In listening to a 1950's broadcast of "This I Believe" with Edward R. Murrow, I discovered a few things. First: I like stuff that not many other people like. This was evidenced by the fact that I was playing this at work and several people gave me the, "WTH?" face. Second: The concerns that people had in the 1950's are not that different than the concerns that we have today. We are still faced with overwhelming fear, deep suspicions, and paralyzing inaction on some of the most basic ideals of our country.
Noting this correlation, I wondered...what other parts of the past are linked with our present?
